While in the hospital Nora had a cat scan to look at her lungs and sinus. The croup ran its course but it evolved into a sinus infection. She had a bad headache, felt shaky and had a rash on her shoulder most likely from the contrast when she did the cat scan. She took some benedryls and a Tylenol, passed out and woke up in the morning just fine. Phew.
On July 11th we left inpatient and moved to the Ronald McDonald house. Nora is doing really well at RMDH she is playing with other kids for the first time since January. We went to Sloan almost everyday last week and she needed some sort of blood product each time we went. Right now she is just trying to be as normal as possible with a mask and gloves which really is her new normal anyway!
Today we go back into the hospital to starts ATG tomorrow. This will be her third year in a row with this chemo. Luckily she does not lose her hair and doesn’t seem to have allergic reactions to this poison which is good. After 5 days of ATG she gets a Sunday rest, and on July 29th, she will receive her donors stem cells which were collected around the 13th. We don’t really know how long she will be in the hospital could be a day, could be a month. We are not sure about anything. Everything is up on the air. Depending how she grafts and whether or not she gets graft vs. host disease those factors will decide when we leave the hospital, when we go back to RMDH or when we go home.
We really need your prayers and positive energy for the next few weeks.
Thank you for all your support.
We love you all.
